Work Experience For A Future Airline Pilot?
2012 ★ volcanoes. ★ easyjet work experience, iceland volcano work experience, uk pilot work experience. 2011 vat number ryanair, vocanic ash vs lava.
I am interested in career as an Airline Pilot (in the UK).
I live in Wales, with Liverpool Airport closest and then Manchester.
I am wondering where I can visit for one week of work experience in early 2009. This is through the school, in Year 10 (Age 14 – 15), and it is up to me where to visit.
Does anyone have any ideas of where to go, who to contact, which department in the airport (for instance) to visit, or has anyone had past experience of the matter?
Thanks in Advance.

well i did my work experience 1 month ago [16 yrs old] and tried to get into the airport or maybe a flying club…
they wouldn’t accept me … i suppose you could try ….but i doubt any would accept you…
but airports do …so could get experience working there ..there was this girl a yr above me and she got to be a air hostess !! for like 1 day !! that would be cool !! and would work in all the different area’s to build up experience.
i would go to your local airport and ring them up…..or talk to your careers adviser.
When I was in year 10 (2006) I did my 2 work experience placement at Humberside International Airport. Whilst there I spent one day in a different part of the aiport. I spent a day at a flying school (got to go flying), I spent one day at Eastern Airways (a small airline) and had a go in the simulator and every other day I had jobs in and around the airport including Air Traffic Control. Was extremely good and I got a very good reference from them. I also got to speak to 4 pilots and asked them how their career has started. Very good experience.
If you live near a small international (or not) airport then contact them but if it is a large one like Manchester, Heathrow etc then I suggest you call them and ask them if they could allocate a placement or suggest a flying school in the airport premises/environment.
They will surely accept you because mine did without hesitation.
Hope I helped.
Good luck
Try approaching the Operations Manager of any of the airlines or handling agents at LPL or MAN.
